The Northern Water Tribe was a collection of more affluent water tribe territories. The Northern Water Tribe often saw itself as better than the Southern, Eastern, and Western tribes. The Northern Water Tribe was about 500 miles outside of the Northwestern Earth Kingdom and 300 miles outside of the Northeastern Earth Kingdom territories.
The Northern Water Tribe is the island on the far north of the map with its historical rival the Southern Water Tribe on the other end.
History
The Northern Water Tribe had maintained a long line of chiefs, princesses, dukes, duchess, and other royal leaders. The North was known for having high volumes of snow and a cold climate. However, for somewhere with such a cold climate, it got a good amount of sunlight during peak hours (8 am-5 pm). Because this tribe lacked vegetation, locals often relied on hunting fish and arctic animals.
Notable Characters
There are several notable people from the Northern Water Tribe.
- Chief Arnook: The leader of the Northern Water Tribe during AMJ.
- Princess Yue: The Princess of the Northern Water Tribe who fell in love with Avatar Aang's companion Sokka. Yue gave her life to save the ability of all waterbenders to control their element.
- Serraj (pronounced Ser-Oz-Ja): A skilled archer born of an artisan family with decent prestige. She was a close friend of Jarue's and had some family that lived in the Western Water Tribe which brought the duo together.
